The last couple weeks, I have had the urge to write about waking up. I have resisted it. What do I know about waking up? I am not awake. I want to be. I have learned a lot of intellectual things about the process. I am convinced it is going to happen. I see evidence all around me, that folks are seeing more and more.
As I understand it, to be fully awake is: being always in the present; being completely without fear; seeing only love; understanding and experiencing Oneness; being completely without judgement and, I am sure, there is more that is not coming to mind.
Many of us have been awakening for some time. We realize that the world we see is an illusion created by our group perception. We know it is an artificial world, that we were manipulated into making, for the benefit of the few. We know that the manipulators used fear and divisiveness as their major tools.
We assume that the 'real' world exist behind the illusion, available to anybody who can see, only love. Many of us had glimpses of that 'real' world.
So, once we see we live in an artificial world maintained by fear; what keeps us here? One thing is, we created an illusion, so real seeming, that we cannot fully believe it is not real. We are part of the creative source, after all; we wouldn't create a puny illusion. The illusion is made to interact with our five senses; it is difficult to see anything unreal about it.
Yet, if it is because of intuition, influence of our mentors, personal experiences or logic [no loving Creative Source would create a world like this], we have come to the conclusion that it can't be real.
What holds us back? We struggle, when the opposite of struggling is necessary. Struggling, striving, fighting it, all reinforces the illusion and keeps us captive. We can sink into our inner being and experience peace and vastness. It is hard for many of us to achieve a meditative state. When we try and it seems like we cannot succeed; accept the idea that we may be doing better than we think. A quiet mind happens. Those who are creative [all of us] have experienced a quiet mind in the process of bringing things to fruition. We all have a little different way of achieving a quiet mind; looking at a Sunset, weeding a garden, basking in the Sun, walking in the woods, playing solitaire, etc. We need to experience the quiet as often as we can everyday.
What is our resistance to living in the moment? Why do we hold on to the past? We have been lectured, interminably, about the necessity of giving up the past, if we are going to wake up. The good and the bad; they both influence our creation of the future. It is obvious why we want to give up negative thoughts of the past, we don't want them to influence our future. How about the pleasing past memories? Do we want to dwell on them? Do they create a positive sense in our present or do they show us what might be lacking now? Do they create longing? When we are fully in this moment, do we really know what the content of the next moment should be?
The Awakening will happen! Perhaps sooner than we know. We are looking forward to knowing Peace. We want to be embraced by unconditional love. We all want to experience living without fear.
Are we ready? We are going to have to give up all our petty judgements and prejudices [some we don't even realize we have]. We have to give up our attachment to worry. Gosh, we love to worry. What's going to happen tomorrow; are we up to the challenge; are our kids going to be okay; I can't begin to cover all the things we like to worry about.
Freedom. Freedom is something we don't yet understand. We have not experienced it in this artificial world and we are wary of it. We unconsciously equate it with negativity; our overseers have made sure of that. Those who profit from this artificial world have striven, to inculcate in us, an innate fear of freedom. We must bring this fear of freedom to our consciousness and reject it. It is nonsense, loving beings do not create negativity when they know they are free. Negativity comes from the slavery we have experienced.
How are we to be ready for awakening? Love is the only answer, I know. Every time we find our mind straying to a negative [or past] thought; we bring our mind to the present and remind ourselves to love. Love what is in front of us. There is nothing but love. If it is not love it is part of the illusion. There is no need to dwell in or study the illusion. It will be over as soon as we quit focusing on it.
The most important way to get ready for the awakening is to love ourselves. It is our disregard for ourselves that keeps us stuck. As we learn to know ourselves, the illusion falls away. Whenever we are not loving ourselves, we are paying attention to some remnant of unworthiness or incompetence. It is all nonsense. We are loved unconditionally. We can't be anything but Love. We are part of Source.
Love and Peace, Gregg
