EGO PAIN II

I am getting a late start today. Our coffee maker went on the fritz. That is just an aside. It is not the reason I am late blogging. I will have to go to town this afternoon and get a new coffee maker. I don't know why I am so late blogging. Partly because I am unsure of how I should write about the topic. Last Wednesday, I wrote about belief, in the fallacy, that the outside world could provide validation. I was going to continue the theme with another example of how we are mislead by our egos.

I am finding this an endless task. The perceptual fabric our egos create seems so overwhelming and impenetrable. Rather than pick one piece after another and look at it, can't we shuck it all?

As we embrace fear, we will be stuck in this ego constructed perception. We have no idea what the world looks like without seeing through this veil. How can we break through it? Let us see what it is made of. All fear thoughts lead to judgement. All beliefs lead to judgement. We see what we have programmed ourselves to see with our fears and judgements. I say fears and judgements to aid understanding; but it is all fear. All judgement is a result of some kind of fear, although it can be subtle.

Our minds are occupied by all kinds of belief systems. All belief systems are based on fear. We retreat in to a belief system when  we feel vulnerable. It makes us feel safe. A belief system creates another perceptual wall we can hide behind. So we have the collective perceptual wall and our myriad individual perceptual walls- so how can we 'see'?

We don't need beliefs. What is true is true. What is, is. If we hold onto a belief we will never see what 'is'. Are we afraid [fear again] that we will see something we don't like? Are we afraid that the world isn't going to be love like we hope?

Let's give it a chance. Let's get rid of all our crap, once and for all. We don't need to look at the world through individual or collective egos. At an intellectual level, at least, let us accept the fact that we are one. That all separation is an illusion. Our bodies alone cannot maintain the separation. We are separate because our ego driven minds are using our bodies for fortresses.

Those folks who have meditated may know the experience of a mind at peace; a mind without judgement. We need to know we can carry a peaceful mind with us where ever we go. That busy mind, full of thoughts, has no value except to keep you from seeing. It is possible to be aware of a gatekeeper in our thought stream that keeps us from focusing on any fear thoughts. We can eliminate all fear and judgement from our minds. At first it is a lot of work. We sweep out our minds and pretty soon the dreck moves in again. It gets easier and easier, especially, if we can rout out the belief that is inviting them in.

We have learned to think in a shallow fashion, using only our ego controlled mind. We can learn to think wholly, using all our capability, which includes our heart.

Many of us get confused about our emotions. We don't see how they are manipulated by a belief system that we have. When we feel an emotion welling up in us we need to be aware of  what it is about. Is it inclusive? Is it loving? Is there any degree of separation? When we have a painful emotion e.g. anger it doesn't help to suppress it and hope it will go away. We don't have to act on it, however, allow the feeling to pass through. Know that it is an intruder in our consciousness. We will see that another emotional choice is available.

I will write more about how emotions affect our perceptions. Negative emotions, like anger, are very destructive and never necessary. When we experience them it is important to not further our error by justifying them.

The only useful belief I can imagine, is the belief, that Love is everything. When we  'see'. We will know, we are all loving beings that deserve to live in paradise.

Love and Peace,  Gregg
