I am getting a late start. I got up early and I have been situated in front of my computer, off and on, for three hours. I have been catching up on some reading. The usual stuff- how do we change our consciousness. When we are on this path, we learn and relearn, from different angles. How did we inculcate all the misinformation about ourselves? How can we learn the truth about ourselves? Can we accept the truth about ourselves?
This is going to be a very short blog. I am going to mention two things that we need to do, and then later today, I am going to add an addendum containing some links to websites that I find valuable.
First: We need to question. We need to have the courage to question every belief, idea or assumption we have. Where did it come from? Why do I hold this idea, belief, or assumption? Did we come to this idea, belief or assumption on our own or is it from society, parents, teachers, religion etc.? Do I honestly agree with it in my heart of hearts? Are we willing to hold things, in our mind and heart, that did not spring from our own experience and understanding? It is especially important to question all ideas, assumptions and beliefs we have of ourselves.
Second: We need to like ourselves. It is easy to say we love ourselves in that universal sense, of loving everybody. But let's start with Like. Do we like ourselves? We all have a pile of crap in the back of our mind; ideas of limitation, unworthiness, incompetence etc. It is all other peoples junk that we took on. We accepted other peoples ideas of ourselves; some are very familiar to us-they haunt us everyday, others are buried and make their presence known only when they are triggered.
We were born perfect spiritual beings. There is nothing wrong with us. All these negative ideas of self came from outside ourselves. We must disavow that pile of trash. We can't do much significant world changing until we learn to like ourselves. We can look at every negative idea of ourselves- face it, examine it without emotion, and let go of it.
This a powerfully creative time. We are powerfully creative beings. We need to face what we are afraid of about ourselves. We need to like ourselves. We do love ourselves but we keep it a secret.
I will get a few web sites together and put them in an addendum. They were helpful to me.
I haven't washed the dishes yet and I have lots of chores to do. It is all right. I am peaceful. I love our new sheep.
Happy Friday!
Love and Peace, Gregg
