IS IT TIME

One of the reasons I started blogging is, I felt there was a need for folks, to get back to the Earth. It seemed to me that the time would soon be here, when it would be necessary to raise all or most of our food locally. For one thing, it is better for us and for the planet, and food raised in large corporate farms tends to be laden with chemicals and lack proper nutrition. Corporate farming is, also, detrimental to the environment and shipping large quantities of food across the country is wasteful and doesn't make sense on any level.

More importantly, raising food at a local level, with the cooperation of as many citizens as possible, raises the consciousness. Our happiness and contentment, perhaps our survival, depend on a loving connection with Earth. All through history, gardening has been a means of finding peace and a reconnection with Nature.

I have had a vision of groups of people gathering together and creating centers to learn a sane way to live on our planet. I have always believed that Nature provides everything for optimum growth, health and happiness. We abandoned herbal medicine in favor of a technological approach. Has it made us healthier? We can't look back to a much healthier time, because all through our recorded history, our minds have been polluted by false ideas. Religion made Nature into the enemy and there was a time when we even burnt herbalist/healers at the stake as witches. I am sure we can learn something from indigenous people around the globe; I hope so. I think we need to look at the Earth and Nature with fresh eyes. If we think of the Earth, as a being, that loves us, and has our best interest at heart, I think we will discover cures for all that ails us, in our immediate vicinity.

It isn't just our food and medicine that needs changing; we have been stark raving mad for thousands of years. We have taken separateness to the extreme. We honor people who kill other people. Right now innocent people are being killed, with drones and other means, by a country that claims to be civilized. We have no idea what civilization is; we behave more savagely than any indigenous peoples. Pause for a moment; how many people have been killed in war, ethnic cleansing, religious violence and other insanity, in just the last 100 years? Last 50 years? Last ten years? Is it getting better?

We have to admit that we are stark raving mad first, then we can seek a cure. No violence against any individual, country or any group, for any reason, is justified. There is always a better way. What is the cure. First admit were nuts. Then see, that we have been encouraged in our nuttiness, by folks that make enormous profits from war and all kind of divisiveness. Accept that what we have, learned and absorbed from our culture, is mostly error. We have been taught to fear people we don't understand. We have been taught to embrace many kinds of fear and apprehension as if they were protective. We have been led down the garden path of insanity.

This is old stuff to many people, I reiterate, to remind myself and others, just how crazy we have been. We know that for every negative, we can choose a positive. We can choose cooperation over competitiveness. We can choose acceptance over rejection. We can choose oneness over separation. We can choose peace over anger and strife. We can go on and on. Or we can simply say, we can choose Love.

I got a little side tracked talking about our collective madness.

What I am wondering about; are we on the verge of an escalating collapse of our society; beginning with our economic system? Is it time  for communities of people, to emerge, to learn how to live on this planet sanely and teach those around them what they are learning? Can you imagine a group of healers, teachers, artist, philosophers, scientist, engineers, farmers, etc., coming together, with a mutual love and reverence for Mother Earth and Nature, dedicated to find the most loving way to live on this Earth and making themselves available to teach and heal the rest of us?

We know that a world created by love, exist behind this illusion created by fear. Perhaps we can help it emerge by joining together.

Love and Peace,  Gregg
