Our glorious Spring has retreated. It is not quite Wintry, but after highs in the 70sF, highs in the forties will feel cold. Actually, the predictors are in error, because my thermometer reads 51.8F at this moment. Perhaps, it won't be too cool.
Jamie was mentioning, this Morning, that many people, in their attempts to leave the past behind, try to disprove a negative. Most of us were instilled with negative concepts about ourselves from teachers, parents, ministers, priests, etc. We spend a great deal of time trying to disprove these ideas about ourselves, rather than just living freely.
In the unlearning process, we can give up those ideas without wasting time attempting to disprove them. If we are brought up to believe we are a klutz, for example, it doesn't work to try to disprove it. In fact, in many situations, we are like a dog tied to a tree, the more we struggle the more we wrap the rope around the tree. Trying to disprove, what we were programmed to believe about ourselves, is not living. It is another way of being imprisoned in another's thought forms.
To be free, we have to clearly know, without ambiguity, that what we were taught is untrue, and move on. One way to look at this is, it wasn't personal.
"Wasn't personal?!" "How can you say that?" We can look at it that way, by realizing. all of us were similarly programmed. Everybody. Our parents, our grand parents, our great grand parents- all of them. And all our institutions were made up of the same flawed people. All taught painful limitations, that were passed down generation after generation.
When we are in a matrix, where everyone is somehow flawed by their upbringing, it can't be seen as personal.
Knowing that makes it easier to forgive those who taught us these negative ideas about ourselves. They didn't have a choice; they were stuck. We begin to have a choice when we see the universality of the craziness. We begin to see that we don't have to choose to be crazy.
There is no such thing as a little bit crazy. If we don't know who we really are- we are crazy.
Getting back to our point; we can't disprove what we were taught. We can, however, leave it behind. We can walk away from it. Knowing that we don't have to be angry, it wasn't anybody's fault. Knowing that everybody has had the same infliction, gives us a new perspective.
We don't need to struggle with untruth. We can get on with our lives. We are here to create! We are here to experience beauty and awe of this majestic universe. We have nothing to prove. All of us create continually. Some of us create materially. Some with words. Some with things. Some with smiles. Some people warm the hearts of everybody they come in contact with. We are always creating and that is what we are here for; that is life.
In eternity, there is no past, there is no future; there is Now. Let us look to the past, for only the love and beauty, that comes to us. We will discover, though, that it is better, to not look to the past at all. Just assume it is all love and beauty. We are creators- we live now. Nothing about the past is truth.
Let us accept we are perfect creative beings who choose only to see Love.
It is a beautiful Monday on Planet Earth.
Love and Peace, Gregg
