HAPPY EASTER

It is almost sixty degrees, but it is cloudy. It threatens to rain but nothing happens. We have had, only a drop or two of rain, so far this April, I hope that changes soon.

I had a strange day yesterday, not bad, but everything seemed slightly off. I wasn't quite irritable, perhaps a little contrary. I had no reason for it, in fact, I felt on top of the world the two preceding days. Astrological? Perhaps. I wanted to make a joke about Neptune tickling my Uranus, but I thought better of it.

Today, I am preoccupied by thoughts of a fencing project. We started a project last Summer to connect our pastures together. It was a very hot day and work was suspended. I hired a neighbor to clean up some dead trees around and I broached the subject to him. It is something he may be interested in finishing. Now I have the project running through my mind.

How can I ignore the seeming horror on the world stage? I recommend that we do that. We can't create a loving world while we are focused on a painful calamity. But there is a positive; the very outrageousness, of returning to the openly violent, aggressiveness of our recent past, out pictures it on the world consciousness. It is like writing it on a giant screen. WE ARE CRAZY. Who is the we? It certainly isn't the American people. It isn't even the government. It is a faction that has been in control of foreign policy. It is the group that has sought world domination at any cost. They are desperate, but the very outrageousness imprints on all our minds: WE DON'T WANT TO DO THIS ANYMORE. The end of this craziness has to be near!

So let us celebrate Easter. Easter is the celebration of Spring. It acknowledges and honors the fertility and renewal of the Earth. The early church used the traditional holidays, to substitute the resurrection of Christ. It was fitting, as that too, symbolized a renewal. A change from war, violence, hunger, judgement, prejudice etc. to a consciousness depicted by Jesus's teachings; love, peace and joy. We have looked at Jesus's teachings and haven't seemed to move in that direction one iota. Perhaps after 2000 plus years we are ready to embrace the teachings. I do not think Jesus had any intent to start a religion. He was advocating a way of life with love at the center. Religions tend to put the truth beyond the reach of folks and the old way of domination continues unabated.

So let us really celebrate Easter. Let us celebrate this most magnificent Planet Earth and her wonderful guardian spirit Gaia. Let us honor all our great teachers, like Jesus, who taught us that Love was the Way.

Happy Easter everyone!

Love and Peace, Gregg
