EMERGING

Winter is easing up. It is snowing and it is just over the freezing mark. Hopefully it will ease up before becoming a nuisance. I have a driveway as long as a city block, so I don't look forward to snow at plowable depths.

Yesterday, I discovered an opossum is living under the chicken coop. We are just getting familiar with opossums in Minnesota. I ran across my first one about fifteen years ago; but, I have only seen dead ones on the road since. I guess they have been gradually expanding their range North for some time. I don't now how long they have been in this part of the state. I am sure it hasn't been longer than twenty-five years.

The information sources were all over the place, in their conclusions, concerning the danger to chickens. It seems that they occasionally kill chickens but it is not a likely occurrence. They are more known for eating eggs. I won't bother Mr. Opossum unless he makes a nuisance of him/herself. I don't think I need be concerned.

I get feedback from people, that would indicate, that many folks are going through significant personal struggle in their relationships with themselves and others. However, the struggles are hopeful in that they are about discovering their being. We are trying to find out who we are. For so long we have defined ourselves with factors outside ourselves. Opinions from society, religion, politics, neighbors, families, teachers, et.al.; we have become confused about who we are.

In our journey to understand who we are, we must release all our past ideas. We are like butterflies struggling to emerge from the chrysalis. The chrysalis is made of all those myriad opinions of us hardened into a shell. The shell needs to be burst open, we need to spread our wings and prepare our flight through reality.

Intertwined in this shell, we created with outside opinions of us, is our own bits and scraps of belief systems we wove in to strengthen the prison bars. We locked ourselves up in our own little cages barely able to communicate with our fellow caged beings. We are amazingly creative and communicative beings, who have attempted to limit our ability to communicate with our bodily senses, and we have done all we can to deaden and mute those senses.

I don't mean to overstate the dilemma and I don't know that I have. We will know when we break free and can look back. The good new is that we did it to ourselves and we can undo it in a second. When we are locked into this illusion, it is so convincing, we feel that it is the only reality there is. We can't see anything else. We only believe our fives senses.

Yet we have had peep holes, here and there, to a different reality. We can harken to the great teachers who have come and gone. We have many people among us, now, that can see through the prison bars. We are indeed breaking out of our shells. We have discovered love. We are beginning to suspect that everything we ever believed is not true. We are finding our way out of the matrix.

We sometimes paint gloomy pictures of our predicament. It is not really gloomy. We cannot fail. Once we realize that awareness is the key, and love expands awareness, nothing can stop us. Full emergence is guaranteed.

We have many people helping us untangle the false beliefs, that we have been hanging on to. There is a way out of the matrix. We have teachers along the way but we must not blindly follow leaders. That is one of the ways we got into trouble in the first place. We carry with us the test for truth. We need to listen to our hearts. We will find our way.

Every time someone breaks out of their chrysalis a great light shines on the Earth and Love showers on all of us.

Love and Peace,  Gregg
