FREEDOM

My thoughts of writing, on Sunday morning, were optimistic; I might have known. My son, Noah and his son, Gregory were coming in from California, Sunday afternoon. Jamie and I still had much to do to prepare for the visit. They will be with us for two weeks. It has been a long anticipated visit; a very joyful time in our lives. That said; I don't know how my writing will go in the next two weeks. I will, hope, to keep you posted, in advance, if I will miss a blog.

What do we want freedom from? We can point to governments, religion, regulations, unjust laws. However, the outside world is our creation. Looking for freedom, from what we made, is looking at things backward. If we built a house much too small for our needs, then blamed the house for being too cramped and constricted, that would be silly, wouldn't it?

When we look around us, at the world, we know we are the authors of what we see. We created it with our thoughts and feelings. Sure we had tremendous input, from controlling factors, that shaped those thoughts and feelings. Still we built the house. How do we get out of this cramped, unsuitable, punishing house, we built?

That is what we are doing now. We are waking up! We are beginning to see, how our thoughts and feelings have been shaped so that we would, contribute our energy, to make what we did not want. One of the themes, we are going to look at today, is our sense of powerlessness. We have been convinced, we are individuals, who are near helpless, if we don't go along with a proscribed protocol. Our powerlessness is constantly reinforced. In fact, we are beings of great power. We don't need to accept this defective house.

We now realize, the only way we could be convinced of our powerlessness is through our own minds. How could our own minds be turned against us? In fact, there are many ways, any time we convince ourselves that negativity is positive, we have turned our mind against us.

Freedom must begin with the individual. As we free ourselves we release others from their prison. One way to free ourselves is to look at how we embrace suffering. Suffering is one of those negativities we have convince ourselves is honorable. On reflection, we realize suffering is never honorable. It is not something we gain from. Sacrifice doesn't lead to enlightenment. Suffering and sacrifice, help only, in that they urge you to stop doing what you are doing. When you touch a hot stove, you pull your hand away. You don't leave it there and tell yourself the pain is good for you.

We have been carefully taught that pain is good for us. Even 'good parents' will sometime say, during a punishment episode, "We are doing this for your own good". This theme is carried out, our whole lives, we are told restrictive, laws, rules and regulations are for our own good. Our minds are carefully shaped, to create limitation, so we can be, more easily, controlled.

We realize it is time to look at our own consciousness. What do we want? We are beings of great power. We are, also, beings of great Love. We have been carefully taught, that if freedom was granted everyone, folks would rob, murder and rape. What nonsense! Most of the murdering, raping and robbing, now, are committed by the very governments, that are teaching us, that you are unworthy of freedom.

Again, we are beings of love, what we want is love, love is freedom. We create paradise around us by, freeing ourselves, and embracing the love that is always there.

I have got a big pile of dishes to wash this Morning. Yes, for me, that is Love and Freedom.

Love and Peace,  Gregg
