MONDAY

Monday doesn't have the same reputation for us retired folk. But I always liked Monday. Everybody was swapping stories about their weekend and doing, what people do, to reconnect and prepare for another week. However, I was always fortunate, in that I had a job I liked.

I have a bigger pile of dishes soaking, than usual, as we had guests for dinner. A good time was had by all. We love having company.

Some people are feeling the pressure to get their act together in preparation for what is coming. What that is, we are not quite sure of; we are responding to this energy of expectation. If you are one of those, who are feeling this energy, relax into it. Be in the moment. There is nothing you need to change. Beware of slipping into self-judgement. You are perfect just the way you are. You are a beautiful being of light.

The time worn recommendation to stay in the now is all important. It is the only place things happen. It is the only reality. Thoughts of the past merely corrupt your present. Thoughts of the future invite unwarranted concern; fear in many disguises.

I can't say why staying in the now is so difficult. {Well I could, but talking about the ego gets boring}. The mind seems to go on its own, cranking out what ifs. The mind is a wonderful instrument for problem solving. It does not do a good job of running your life.

We have another 'thinking center'. The heart center. It communicates differently. It doesn't pop thoughts into your head. It gives you a 'knowing'. You can always check out if something is coming from the heart, because it is always the most loving solution. Consciousness, driven by the mind, is hopeless. Peace will not be found. Over the last few thousands of years, the mind has taken over our consciousness; anything can be rationalized. Think of the mind as a tool; like a computer. It is a very valuable tool, but you can't base your life on its conclusions.

Our heart needs to drive our mind, not the other way around. We begin with unconditional love and see where the thought process goes. The heart cannot be heard when the mind is a busy street of conflicting ideas. In the quiet of the now, the heart speaks clearly. As we focus more on our heart center [love], the more we are aware of our consciousness expanding. Our awareness begins to include others and eventually everything. Reality is unity. Separation is the illusion.

It is a beautiful day here on Laughing Water Farm. After doing the dishes, I am going to finish mowing my lawn and slowly enjoy a marvelous day.

Love and Peace,  Gregg
