It is a beautiful Morning. Bright Sun,
though cool. It was -5.5 F, when I arose, but it is now 11.8. The world
around us is warming nicely. I am getting a late start. I did my
crossword puzzle, then I did my outside chores. I read a few things
on the internet. I stared out the window, watching two deer, trim up
some trees, on the far side of the pasture, accompanied by a blue jay,
flitting through the sunlight. It is a marvelous, peaceful Winter
day; do I have any more to say?
Well, I might admit that I haven't been
taking my own advice, at least not all the time, I must confess I
didn't just watch the bad movie unfold on the world stage, it
sometimes triggered emotions that were not necessarily peaceful to me
or the world. I have been fairly peaceful much of the time. Today I
am GOOD. I don't know if I had a breakthrough or there has been a
subtle change in the presentation of the uproar; but this Morning I
could see the amusement. Outrage, anger, attack, only perpetuates the
craziness; humor helps dissolves it, and takes some of the danger away. I saw
some outrageously funny memes.
Resistance, and insistence on sanity,
need not be angry; it can be loving and it certainly can be
entertaining. The world will shape to our loving intent.
However, I think it all serves to help
us awake. We are bound to have some negative emotions when we first
realize how crazy the world is. We gradually realize the craziness
isn't new. It has been there all the time; but, this is the time it
its clearly manifest. It is part of the evolvement; it is like an
infection that has to come to a head before it gets better.
Waking up seems to come in two stages
[remember your getting this from an old guy that lives South of
Ogilvie- who is just cracking open his own eyes]. First, we seem to
realize, just how crazy the world is; we see that we have been
manipulated to interpret our world in a way that benefits a few, and
nothing we believe, can be trusted. We sense, that we have created an
illusion, that can trap us if we don't question our seeing. We
realize that fear was used to manipulate our egos into believing
there was such a thing as higher and lower and the hierarchies we
created were bogus. We begin to see how love operates and how it
creates a marvelously different illusion and we can indeed see the
love in each other. We awaken to 'see', that the world we thought was
true, is our creation. To some extent we learn 'to be in it, but not
of it'. Although, we see it is not 'real', we have no choice but to
live in it and try to uplift ourselves and those around us. We
may not think of ourselves, as victims of it anymore, but we can't
avoid suffering. We know, we are both the actors and the directors,
of the movie, but we can't get out of our seats and certainly are not
able to get out of the theater.
In the second stage of awakening, we
can step out of the theater. That is what the Great Ones were able to
do, then they could see everything was love. When Siddhartha awoke,
he proclaimed, “It is all suffering”. We cannot avoid it when we
are still in the theater. When we are fully awake we will be able to
step outside the illusion and 'see'. We will see reality- a world
created by the only energy there is- love. A world created without
any distortion of the ego. We won't just conclude, intellectually,
that all are one; we will be able to experience it. We will accept
ourselves, as the creators that we are, and will create out of love.
Every time we smile, every time we
laugh, every time we wish, someone well in our hearts; we move closer
to awakening. It is wonderful, to fall in love, with humanity; we can
do it. There is nothing else.
Happy Friday! Celebrate the love in
your heart and that in your neighbor!
Love and Peace, Gregg
