PLANT A GARDEN

It is a little dreary out. It looks like it might rain. I am not complaining. It is 50 F, for February, that is fantastic. Our snow is almost gone. Last night it stayed above freezing, one could see the difference this Morning. Folks, a little to the South of us, had above freezing nights for several days. We, didn't, it was getting into the 50s everyday, but it took the Sun a couple hours, to begin the melting, when it got down to the twenties most nights.

What are we going to talk about, if we don't talk about the elephant in the living room? Hmmmmm- do even know anything about the elephant yet? Not as much as we think. We need to wait and see. Everything is coming out. All that was hidden will emerge. Much will be very shocking and it will, also, be freeing.

There are fear fomenters everywhere. Can we observe the show without fear? If not, don't pay attention; we need your love. We can not make sense of the elephant's thrashing around; don't try to. We will see a pattern emerge. But not yet!

We have been living in a world, created by the most negative aspects, of our egos. That is how manipulation works. The manipulators invite us to be afraid. Our egos are always alert for danger, so they attract fear. The manipulators can then steer us in the direction they want. All war, chaos, and negativity of all varieties, comes from the terrified egos.

If we are to create a world from our hearts, and the healthy parts of our minds, we need to avoid fear thoughts. Fear thoughts disguise themselves as protection-they never are. Actions, taken out of fear, do not have the desired results.

How can we bring our own lives in line with our dreams? What can we do to allow ourselves to be happy? What can we do to bring sanity to a crazy world? {You know what I will say- we need to love ourselves}. "Okay, okay, I am in the process of doing that. What else can we do?"

Let us begin, with a small piece of this crazy world, and make some repair. Let's start with how we feed ourselves. We can't, by ourselves, remove all the poisons from our food or redeem industrial agriculture. We can, however plant a garden. Even folks in the city can plant gardens. Check out the gardens in Detroit, in what used to be, urban areas. People are gardening in cities all around the world.

One of the most intimate relationships, we have on this Earth, is with food. As with everything that is intimate, love makes the difference. How could food raised on, ravaged, chemically laden ground, tended by exploited people, be as nutritious as the food we raise ourselves; every step, a step imbued with love.

February, the perfect time for planning a garden; hey, do we want to mow all that grass? Wouldn't a nice vegetable garden fit right there? Wouldn't it be nice to get our hands in the Earth? Every evening, when our days work is done, we can reconnect with the Earth and discharge the days tension; our Mother Earth always welcomes us.

Those tomatoes, that lettuce, those carrots, they will bring into your body, more than chemicals on a chart; they will give you the Love of the Earth. It is a relationship, a very intimate relationship. Our relationship with food needs to be honored. If we can't personally raise our own food, we can buy it from people we trust. Market gardening is proliferating. If we trust our intuition, and do a little investigation, we will find a good source.

We are going through a very chaotic time. We need to keep grounded. A nice garden is the perfect solution for many of us.

Love and Peace, Gregg
