EQUANIMITY

Equanimity; it is a nice word. It sounds nice to me. Say it to yourself; equanimity. Doesn't it call a calm, peaceful mood to mind. A person who has equanimity, doesn't get ruffled by the ups and downs of what goes on around them. They know that everything is okay. They know that the Universe is loving and all will be just fine.

We can have equanimity, too. It is a choice that we make. We are so used to reacting to other people's dramas, that we don't see how we choose our reaction. If we pay attention, we will see how we can stay unruffled when someone is reacting emotionally to, or around us. It is easier to stay out of it, if it is just around us, when it is to us, it tends to trigger our own drama. Still, it is easier to stay unruffled than one might think. It is a matter of awareness and intent.

First we need to value peace. We can't really have the intent to be peaceful unless we appreciate what it means to be peaceful. When we know, that is what we want, then we have to be aware. It doesn't take very many slip-ups, to know when not to engage, someone else's drama.

When we love ourselves, we want to experience love. Love and peace are wedded. Can we really experience love without peace? We can learn that we don't have to give up our peace, even if everything is falling around us.

As we have discussed before, the world has been in a major economic contraction. With one strategy after another, the contraction has been kept from, too great a hit, on the stock market. Those days might be over. It is possible the world economy can shake this off and continue without a major rout. But then, it will eventually all collapse, because it is based on nothing but greed.

We can keep our equanimity even through this. We need to radiate peace and love to a troubled world. Everything is okay. All is well.

We can go through the world loving ourselves. There isn't anything we can't love. We can understand others reactions and love them for them, without ourselves, joining in.

This will be a short blog. Jamie pulled a muscle in her right leg. She is worried that she might not be able to drive. I need to go to the Amish and pick up milk. And, we had a change in schedule for Wednesday; I won't be able to blog in the Morning. It is possible I will be able to write in the afternoon, but it is doubtful. I will be here Friday.

Love and Peace,  Gregg
