I feel like it is my nap time. I didn't get a good night sleep. A couple days ago I had a sore neck, on one side. Nothing serious. The kind that one gets by sleeping on it wrong. Whatever I did yesterday made it worse. I couldn't get comfortable last night and slept sporadically until about 4:30AM. Only then, did it occur to me to take some aspirin. After that, I slept well, but I had to get up early, do some chores and get my car into the garage for maintenance by 8:AM.
I don't take any medication and it is such a long time since I had a headache or any other reason for aspirin, I just didn't think of it. The first thing I said to Jamie when I came down stairs was, "I am an idiot". She said, "Well I know that, but just what are you referring to?" I knew I was giving her too good an opening.
More and more things are coming out in the open concerning how we are hoodwinked, sometimes by well meaning forces and other times by the wish for profit or control.
Remember the fat scare? How Ancel Keys, et al, linked heart disease to fat intake? Well, many of us didn't believe it but we gave up arguing about it because, those supporting, it had all those experts. There has been science refuting the hypothesis all along but it rarely emerged in the mainstream press. Now the refutations are hitting the main stream media. There is no link between natural saturated fat and heart disease. The only damaging saturated fats are artificial e.g. margarine and hydrogenated products; which may cause vascular inflamation.
It seems like most of the folks got sucked in to this pseudo-science and in the meantime the drug industry made billions on cholesterol lowering drugs. The potential harmfulness of these drugs is well known to many physicians and the news of this well soon be emerging. In the meantime enjoy your bacon and eggs. They are good for you.
Another hypothesis, that is about to be exploded, is that of climate change. There is no doubt that climate change is happening. It always does. Sometimes it speeds up sometimes it slows down. Is it a reason for panic? Whenever fear is used to motivate the public, look underneath for reasons. I like Al Gore and when "The Inconvenient Truth" came out you could count me as one of the global warming believers. Then I looked at the solution. What! Cap and Trade? I researched it. There is no way it would reduce carbon in the atmosphere in time to affect climate change. However, it was a way for industry to make billions and billions, perhaps trillions of dollars from the tax payer. Both governments and industry could glut themselves with the people's money. For what? I urge you to look at the ideas promoted to reduce carbon emissions, see for yourself.
I am also sure that our pollutions do effect climate change. How much is the question. We need to assess honestly how much the climate is changing and gauge our contributions. This hasn't been done. We jumped right into hysteria mode with the hope of pushing through an industry pleasing solution.
It is all done very cleverly. Us liberals, lined up with the believers, partly because we saw the conservatives, especially the Tea Party types as deniers. If they are denying it, it must be true, right?
I have a simple question, "If climate change is a dire concern, wouldn't we [the government] be demanding to end all pollution now?" Us folks concerned about the environment have been campaigning all our adult lives to end pollution. We love our Earth. We love our life. We are sick of being poisoned. How many people are dying or sick because of pollution? So................the powers that be come out with an unobservable and unprovable hypothesis that carbon is the culprit. Carbon an essential ingredient for life. They come up with a solution that will increase the wealth of the top ten percent immeasurably. Does that make sense? What? We can't just pass a law that this type of pollution will not be permitted? What about all the poisons we are pouring into the air and water, When are we going to do something about that?
We need to re-look at all the data so far. If it is plausible that carbon is the culprit. We simply pass a law prohibiting the emissions. After all, it is our world; corporations don't own it. Keep in mind, if we ever hear the phrase "settled science" know we are being hoodwinked. There is no such thing. Ask a scientist.
Have a great Friday! Celebrate that we are beginning to see. Shine your light brightly. Let us love ourselves and extend that love to those next to us.
Love and Peace, Gregg
