WHAT IS PARADISE

It is an absolutely beautiful day on this piece of Planet Earth. The Sun came out brightly after a couple days of clouds and rain. I don't think it could be nicer. It is as near to Paradise as I have experienced.

What is Paradise? Let us start with some other questions. What would it be like, if we did believe, we were the creators of the experience we are having? What if our whole experience here is an illusion created by our thoughts? What if we could have what we want by thinking differently?

What is the story behind these questions? Many cultures and religions have tried to explain humankind's dilemma. A synthesis of these beliefs follows: we once knew ourselves to be of one mind and part of 'all that is'. {Let's not be shy and use the word God- it won't bite} The idea went through the group mind, “I wonder what it would be like creating separately from God and each other.” Being that we were part of the creative energy we instantly realized our thought and created time.

Since time is not real it is hard to say, according to our measurement, how long it took us to get into trouble. I imagine for eons we delighted in making moons, suns and planets and manipulating energy according to our will. We were having fun- no harm done. At some point we must have decided to make the illusion more real; to do this we added a little forgetfulness- just a little at first. At some point in our separation, our origins became hazy enough, that separation became fearful. The development of individual egos would soon follow, if not be simultaneous.

You can see where this goes: higher and lower develops; some start lording over others; with the forgetting we are spirit, materials begin to have value. As some seem more powerful than others, fear of each other develops. Now there are enemies, allies and victims.

We try to hang on to our origins by clinging to creation myths, cultural lore and various philosophies. But instead of raising our vibration, we sink lower and lower. Our density, increased to the idea, that we were limited to the bodies, that we were originally using just for fun. When we began, we knew we were beings of light, and our bodies were just for the fun of experimenting with separation. It was like taking an amusement park excursion.

Why has the illusion been so hard to give up? Why doesn't God just rescue us? To answer the first question: we made the illusion as real as we possibly could. Our brains are designed to see the illusion as the only reality. Fortunately, we are more than our brains. The second question is hard for people to answer. The way I see it is, God knows we never left. In eternity no time has elapsed. We are off in a bubble doing our experiment. God knows we can return when we make up our mind. We made it. We can unmake it. God is love and he has always been there.

Imagine it this way. God's love surrounds us, like a giant flood light of infinite intensity and size. We don't know it because we have thrown up our ego shields, both collectively and individually, to protect us from the light. Why do we do that? Because the light/love makes us feel guilty. We feel we have betrayed God by what we have made. Furthermore, we are angry with God for abandoning us in the illusion we created. Being angry with God makes us more afraid; because of what God could do to us; separation paranoia to the nth degree.

We have had many teachers who have reassured us that God is only Love and we needn't be afraid. We have had trouble listening. We can step out from under our ego shields into the bright light of creation anytime. God is not capable of judgement. God only yearns for completion and the well being of all that makes up the ONE.

The Awakening means the group ego shields are thinning and more light is pouring in. When we can accept that there is only Love and all else is part of the illusion, we will be in Paradise. All through history there have been individuals who have experience it. Now it is time for all of us to step out into the Light.

Something to chew on.

Happy Friday!

Love and Peace, Gregg
