COMPANY

I was up at 7AM put my dishes on to soak and did most of my crossword puzzle. Then did the dishes before the water could get cool, finished them by 8:30 and then finished the puzzle. We have company; Naomi and Elijah arrived yesterday and are staying through Saturday. I wasn't sure I was going to blog. I don't want to comment further on the political scene or the deteriorating world; at least, not for now.

I got my amaryllis potted. I have five blooming size bulbs and four or five I am raising up. When I first raised them, I potted them around Thanksgiving, so they would bloom at Christmas time. Soon I didn't get them potted until Christmas time and they would bloom in the dark days of January. Now I aim to get them blooming by Valentines day. I don't think they will make it. I potted them last Saturday and they haven't sprouted yet. Oh well, they will glorify our living room when they do bloom.

Naomi brought over these speakers that operate cordlessly [bluetooth] and one can play songs directly from an iPad or a smart phone. We stayed up fairly late listening to some wonderful music and I may have imbibed too much. I am not scintillating.

One would think that being on Planet Earth for 82 years would prevent such an error. I wonder if I will ever get used to being old? It takes be by surprise often. I will think, “am I really 82?” How did that happen? And how come I am not grown up, yet? I don't really mind the limitations of being old. I can't remember the last time I ran. I wonder if I could run if a bear was chasing me? I am not so good at dodging that ram when he takes a notion to come after me.

We lived in this house for 42 years! Its hard to believe. Ever segment of life goes by at a different speed. Remember when Summer lasted forever?

I don't mind. I don't mind any of it! Life is a great adventure. It only gets better.

This is going to be a short blog. I am going to help entertain our guests; well at least, after a little nap.

Friday! Time for a celebration! Let your love light shine!

Love and Peace, Gregg
