We are often advised to be ourselves. Good advice. But, do we know who we are? We have been so many things for so many people. We change our mask for every situation we are in. We have been raised to please a diverse number of people. Then when we grow up we're expected to just be ourselves?
Our programming is very subtle and very complete. It covers everything. It doesn't happen without a fight. The rebelliousness of some youth comes from their sense that something is wrong. They feel it. They may reject everything and everybody, not knowing what the offensive part is.
We take on taste and opinions of others without awareness. Most of these things are rather harmless. I remember when I was about 24, I was looking at a garden and the person I was with said something about the petunias. I said, "I don't like petunias." I had a sudden realization; it wasn't my opinion. I was echoing my Mother's opinion. Which was strange because we were in my Mother's garden. She must have planted them. But, I was sure that I got that opinion from her. There must have been something she didn't appreciate about them. I saw petunias with fresh eyes and discovered I liked them. I was very close to my Mother and I loved her dearly. However, she didn't lack for opinions and wasn't shy about sharing them with family. She was extremely tolerant about everything but intolerance.
How do we sort all this out? How do we discover who we are? When can we say, I am no longer programmed, "I am myself?" First know that we are always ourselves. Despite the matrix we find ourselves in, we are there. We can calm our minds and sink down into a peaceful place anytime. No matter how programmed we become, we can sense the glimmer of light that is us.
What makes us happy? What brings us peace? What enhances that glow of love that emanates from our center? When we come to the conclusion that we are Love; it will be easier to differentiate ourselves from the matrix.
So sometimes the advice, "Be yourself" is not so easy. We work on it. We know we need to get out of the time loop of continuing to create our future from the past. We know when we are stuck in this we miss the present. We know that past and present pain causes us to stay stuck in the loop. We know forgiveness is the key. We pay attention to ourselves. We grow. We know we are growing. We are becoming more and more aware of the love that pours out from us and surrounds us. We learn to forgive our lapses. We see more and more how even the slightest judgement dims our light and fogs our mind.
We begin to realize that being ourselves is a journey. A great Journey of Self- Discovery. We don't know when the final exit from the matrix will occur. We don't know when we will be able to really 'see'. The timing of Enlightenment is not our choice. The preparation for it is always our choice.
We are going to get there regardless. Do we follow the path of love, peace and joy or are we dragged through the brambles beside the path? Either way, we will discover Love is the only way.
We will discover we are great beings of light. All is Love. Everything that isn't love is illusion.

UNLEARNING
It is a beautiful Morning on Laughing Water Farm. Jamie is out in the garden, preparing beds for planting. It is cool, 63.6F, but it feels hot in the Sun. We are getting a late start with the garden but that is not too unusual in this climate. In Minnesota, Spring is always a crap shoot.
We are at a time where learning is unlearning. We need to shed all the things we believe that are untrue. From birth we have been programmed to belief what would benefit those in control. We know very little of our history or who we are.
It has puzzled me why more people who are interested in creating a new world haven't come together. Books about spirituality and how to live authentically are widely read. Social media is filled with references about higher consciousness. Then it occurred to me, we can't come together in communities until we are no longer in danger of indoctrination. We have been indoctrinated into a very sick culture, of several variations, for 13,000 years. We have become easily manipulable by those who would use us.
Yes, we need to see our oneness. We, also, need to see that we do not need people who set themselves up as leaders. We will not be able to come together in effective communities until we have substantially unlearned our present programming. As individuals we need to learn to look in ourselves for validation, not leaders. We have been programmed to look to authority. Authority is within us.
Then, we already live in communities. All of us are in a community of some kind. Can they be a community of Love? Can we, as individuals, be change agents of Love?
First; I think we need to see that we are inseparable. We are all part of Source. Every thought, feeling and action of one effects the many. We are already one. Our separateness is part of the illusion. We wanted to see what it would be like to create without Source. We found out. It is not so hot. In the illusion [we are presently in] a few managed to take control of the rest. We need to shed that control and know our sovereignty.
To know our oneness, we have to give up the ego's tendency to defend our separation. We are only beginning to see that all defensiveness keeps us in the illusion of separation. We have been indoctrinated to protect ourselves. We need no protection. We need no defensiveness. We cannot be peaceful, loving and joyful and defensive at the same time.
Despite the fact, that in our individual illusions we don't always see it, our group consciousness has been rising. It has been rising fast and powerfully. Those who have been in control for eons can see that their time is numbered. It has occurred, to the vast majority of folks, that they can live in peace, prosperity and love without the manipulations of those in control.
We have much to unlearn. We need to see ourselves as equal beings of light. We need to see ourselves as defined by Source. We need to accept that we are beings of love. Our unlearning and our learning can be greatly enhanced by coming together, for in truth we are one, but it cannot be effective until we have given up the temptation to give our power away to a group or leader.

MEMORIAL DAY
I love Holidays! People gather together to celebrate. They appreciate each other and the warmth of their love raises the vibration of the planet. We need more occasions to get together and celebrate.
When I was a child we went to a graveyard on Memorial Day [also known as Decoration Day]. My grandparents and parents would tend the graves and plant flowers. The children would scamper about, playing with each other and occasionally read the gravestones and wonder about the mystery that death and a graveyard seemed to be. It wasn't a somber time. There didn't appear to be any sadness. There was remembering and a celebration of the lives that were. We would have a picnic. I don't remember if there was a specific picnic area or if we just spread a cloth among the stones.
I don't want to rain on anybody's parade but I am sometimes troubled by the feeling of some of these memorial celebrations. Sometimes there is a whisper of honoring war, along with the dead. Sometimes it is more than a whisper and can be uber-chauvinism. We are not honoring the dead when we are denying the truth. We need to face the truth.
When we love somebody who is using denial to avoid the truth, and perhaps being self-destructive, we try to confront them with what they don't want to see. We want to be as gentle and loving as possible. Perhaps, we may gather a group of their closest friends to support them as they are opening up to what they don't want to see.
We honor truth and know people need to see the truth. We can honor our dead without championing the cause of their death. Those who died may be honorable indeed. Their cause may have been less than honorable.
We don't want to face the idea that our precious children were put in harms way, not to protect our freedom, but to protect the freedom of corporations and the elite they represent. Freedom to continue to exploit us and keep us in virtual slavery.
Yes, we need to honor our dead without honoring the wars they were in. The idea of a just war is the height of denial and the result of very successful propaganda. We won't be manipulated into any more major wars and soon even minor skirmishes will come to an end. We won't do it. We just won't have it. All, are our brothers and sisters. All, are fellow loving beings. We will not let an elite poison our minds about other folks. We will not kill so they can be enriched.
So on this beautiful Memorial Day. Remember our loved ones who have died in battle. Love them intensely. In a greater sense, they did die for us. They died so we could see the truth and the horror of war.
Let us gather together in celebration. Remember all who have gone before us with gratitude. Let us love and appreciate each other. Let us celebrate that there will be no more war. Our love is too intense. War is no longer possible.

GOING WITH THE FLOW
We are hosting a graduation party for Naomi tomorrow. She is now a Registered Nurse, the pinning ceremony was last week.
Because of the late Spring I haven't done much yard work. I picked up some of the larger branches. There are still many smaller branches to be picked up before I mow. That plus all the other things that, seem to, need to be done before one has a party, could be overwhelming. No matter how many times we go through these episodes, it is easy to get caught up in the anxiousness of getting everything done.
After almost eight decades on planet Earth, I am learning it doesn't have to be a harrying experience. No matter how much one has to do and how much time there is to do it, it is possible to stay grounded, find your center, and proceed one task at a time. Our inner proddings will guide us from task to task and everything that needs to get done will get done.
It is possible to, always, be at peace. We have been so inured to this third dimension, where our minds are normally full of noise. Thoughts pulling us this way and that way. Negative past experiences constantly cranking out negative thoughts and experiences. We are so used to it and it can become so subtle, that we can be robbed of our peace and not know why.
Those of us that have been seeking peace, through meditation and ongoing discipline of our minds, can catch ourselves, find our centers and go with the natural rhythm of our activities. Getting ready for an event, like a party, can be exciting but peaceful experience.
Our minds are full of rules, regulations, dos and don'ts. We have accumulated thousands of little rules, in the form of judgements, that rule our perception. We create continually the future from the past. It is an unconscious process. Our perception is formed by those thousands of little judgements and we look at the world through that filter.
We can see why our teachers, past and present, have cautioned us to give up judgements and live only in the present.
Yet, we find it difficult to do this. Our judgements form a fabric, a maze, an impenetrable veil. We learned them well from a society that had an interest in control and manipulation. It is indeed a difficult situation. A trap.
The way out. All judgement: higher and lower; good and bad; better or worse; richer or poorer; etc. etc. etc. are based on some modicum of fear. Without fear, we would not measure ourselves against others or our things against others' things. Or our tastes, dreams, wishes, or anything else. If we need approval, only from ourselves, there is no need to look elsewhere.
With love we find our way out. Love with forgiveness dissolves all judgement because it dispels fear.
The Great Awakening is the realization that we can emerge from this third dimensional trap by seeing differently. For an individual to do it before now, was difficult because it took so much light to dispel our accumulated darkness and escape from our negative time loop.
The light is increasing so fast that more and more of us are able to walk through life in the perpetual now. Our minds are clear. The past is a reference point, a memory, a place that we learned from but it is not repeated in the present. Our minds are in the present moment. We see only love. We experience great joy and an exuberance for life. We are free to create new experience, to experiment, to enjoy life to the fullest. We can't even imagine what it would be like to be fearful. We know we can have absolute faith in a universe of love.
We may not be there yet, but we are well on the way.

ONE FOOT IN EACH DIMENSION
We must be on the verge of Summer. Last night was the first time we had a window open all night in our bedroom. It was also the first time we didn't need some form of heat when we arose. The Great Winter is becoming a memory.
I brought up the concept of dimensions in my last blog. Dimensions can be best thought of as levels of consciousness, rather than spaces. For the last thirteen thousand years or so we have been in the third dimension. I could say, trapped in the third dimension. That is how it seems and only few found a way out.
We were trapped because we continued creating a future from the past. We made a time loop that we could not emerge from. As long as we had fear we were destined to continue the past in the future.
The Law of Attraction means we bring to us what we focus on. Our loving universe attempts to fulfill our every wish. It sees what we focus on, as what we want. So we can see, that what we feared, we focused on, and continued to bring about in some form.
Because of duality our thinking became rigid. We saw the opposite of every construct. Everything was good or bad; acceptable or unacceptable; moral or immoral. In our wish to please parents, teachers and other society members we wended through this maze of judgements and tried to find meaning. We deluded ourselves into thinking we were making choices when we were actually only taking the less confusing alternative.
To get out of this maze of judgement we created a rational mind. the problem is this rational mind was separated from intuition and all aspects of the higher mind. Because of its separation from the heart it is equally capable of coming to destructive as constructive conclusions.
If we look at the history of our world and our own personal experience we can see how we have been operating in this third dimension of consciousness.
There have always been folks who have been able to escape the third dimension and rise to higher levels of consciousness. Through the ages they have been our teachers and the founders of our great religions. Unfortunately, the institutions of religions forgot the teachings or neglected them in favor of power and their own continuation. That's another story. Whether these folks are labeled Masters, Enlightened Ones, Sons of God, it doesn't matter. They all came here to help us out of the third dimensional trap. They all taught, in some manner, that Love was the key.
In the last few generations most of us have experienced some rise in our consciousness. More and more of us have been able, not only get a foot on the next level, but experience walking in the fourth dimension.
Our teachers have told us again and again that the secret is to be in the 'now'. Only when we are fully in the present moment are we free of the past. In the third dimension we are constantly fighting to keep the past out of the present because fear is still the reigning emotion. As we learn to love, in all situations, we build a wall of light around us that keeps fear at bay. In the third dimension choice is an illusion because of the confusion of judgement; except [this is a huge except] we can choose love over fear. Choose love enough times and the door to the fourth dimension opens.
In the fourth dimension real choice is possible. Living in present time, one can assess all options free of guilt, shame and judgement of any kind. One learns the merits of the choice by the ensuing experience, again without shame, guilt or judgement. There is only love and learning. Living in the Present Time and free to make real Choices characterizes the fourth dimension.
When we become conscious of being conscious, we open ourselves to higher concepts. For example; unlike the rigidity of the third dimension we realize the paradox, that what is true in one moment, may not be true in the next. Also. what is false in one moment may not be in the next.
We, also, open up, to our soul knowledge and we begin to really see who we are. We have much to remember. We have had a journey of many lifetimes. What have we learned? Why are we here? How can we serve? What do we have to offer? What is our main challenge in this life?
We are on our way home to oneness, to unconditional love, to Our Source.

RAINY DAY
It has been raining steadily the last few hours. This time it is a Spring rain, not the Wintery/Spring rains we a had earlier. It is good. The rain is steady, soothing and sleep producing. I have been snoozing in front of my computer waiting for something to write about.
We have all heard of dimensions. We have been enjoying the third dimension in the present reality. It is the dimension of duality. In and of itself, duality is not so bad. Contrast helps one learn. It enhances experience, but it can be taken over by the negative with the creation of fear. Even that is not so bad. However, our world was taken over by a group who used fear to dominate the rest. Folks gave up their sovereignty for their protection. It was all an illusion. We didn't need protection. We just bought into a program of fear that was cleverly introduced into our consciousness. Of course there was much more to it than that and perhaps the interference of other beings.
The much more to it is not germane to our present discussion, as in its simplest form we gave up who we were for the sake of fear. We got so enamored by our individuality and our neat bodies that we began to remember our oneness distantly. Those into control found it easy to convince us that the other was a threat and we needed protection. Soon our oneness was only found in legend and then lost completely.
What is germane, is that we have been seduced by fear ever since. We are constantly inundated with the idea that there are dangerous people out to get us and we need protection. Protection from the very people who are creating the idea in the first place. A naked protection racket of the worst kind!
Then the awakening began. I don't know when one could date the beginning. If we read Shakespeare, we will note, he was aware. Many artist, philosophers and scientist were awake. Many folks have come into the world with their eyes, at least, squinted. If one saw too clearly and didn't keep his/her mouth shut they were dealt with.
The awakening had a great surge forward in the sixties. It grew and expanded during the seventies and went underground in the eighties. Like a giant mushroom growing under the forest floor it spread everywhere. During the time when no one was talking about it on the surface; hundreds of books on spirituality and raising consciousness were being written and devoured by millions. It seemed as if folks were studying in isolation. There didn't seem to be much connectivity. Yet one look at the best seller list showed the student of higher consciousness had plenty of company.
Our larger culture, as depicted in the main stream media, has yet to acknowledge the Great Awakening. The giant mushroom has emerged. The majority of folks are casting off the yoke of fear. We know there is a world to be lived, without fear.
Folks who map out consciousness say we are entering the 4th level or dimension where fear in no longer operative. The past is only a memory and no thought or feeling of it is brought into the present. Because there is no fear the future is welcomed but not thought about. We are here to enjoy, to experience, to love, to create, to learn, to serve each other and bask in the love of each other and our Source.
We have a foot in the third dimension and one in the fourth. We are just learning to walk without fear. We are practicing living in the present. We ignore calls to fear. We find great joy and pleasure in our oneness. We have a worldview that includes everybody. We feel the power of creation with love and we acknowledge the love of a benevolent universe.

LIFE CHANGES ON LAUGHING WATER FARM
Our world will be different on Laughing Water Farm. Our daughter, Naomi, and her son, Elijah, have been living with us for over four years. Naomi has completed a nursing program at a local college and is now a Registered Nurse. I am sure they will be here for a few more months but a big change seems inevitable. We attended the pinning ceremony last night and we will have a family celebration next Saturday.
There is such amazement living with a six year old. When my children were six years old I was involved with being a Father. As a Grandfather it is different, one is less involved and more involved, at the same time. One can observe the wondrous nature of the child and appreciate the magnificent spirit shining through without the restraint of parenthood. I think, all of us, as we get older appreciate observing children more. It is strange that we live in a society where older folks are separated from children.
There are greater changes afoot for all the people of this planet. As our consciousness rises, we will feel a oneness with each other and our Mother Earth, that we haven't felt for thousands of years. The feeling of oneness will come with great joy and unimaginable peace. I know I am not at a place where I can really know this or describe it to others. Through meditation, I can find that place in my heart where all is one and, momentarily, I can feel that great joy and peace come over me. We will find that place together and experience it together.
Right now we are involved in doing Spring chores on our little piece of paradise. We have many trees in our yard. Five oaks, nine hard maples, seven or eight soft maples, a large elm, ironwoods, aspen and assorted evergreens. And I could, also, mention the pear trees, apple trees and flowering bushes of several varieties. This Winter must have been exceptionally windy. All the trees shed branches but the soft maples outdid them all. I, already, cleared many large branches and I have many smaller branches yet to pick up before I mow.
It has been an unusually slow spring. Our temperatures have hovered twenty degrees below normal on most days. We have had only a few days of normal temperatures and only twice did we have two days in a row that were normal or above. Our gardening and yard work are about the level usually seen in early April. The positive aspect of this, is that it gave Jamie a chance to finish up the woodwork on our new addition. Among Jamie's many talents is an ability to work with wood. She really loves it, although the work in our addition has been awesome. She has finished just in time to take up gardening.
I sit here today, on planet Earth, feeling that a whole new world is opening up. How much is due to the changes in our personal life and how much is the change that is occurring in the larger world, it is hard to know. But the magnificent feeling I have is probably more to do with the radiance that is emanating from all of us. I feel like hugging everybody in the world. Dare I do it?

SLIP SLIDING AWAY
Yesterday was a day of one step forward then two backwards. The words of that Paul Simon song kept going through my mind this Morning. My mentors tell me, one can not really go backward, we learn with every experience. I know that to be true, yet, we will have days when it doesn't seem true.
Yesterday was a day of strange happenings; e-mail glitches, misunderstandings and silly errors. Today, the Sun is shining bright. I will release yesterday to the past and let it fade away.
Today is a brand new day to create anew. There are so many things in this world we want to improve. We see that the world is wretched; pain and suffering everywhere. We have learned that wailing about the injustices of the world helps nobody and causes us to see the world through a negative filter. Of course, when we see something we can correct, we do so. The greatest thing we can do for everybody is to raise our own consciousness. We know by now we enhance what we focus on. If we focus on the positive aspects in the world, we help them grow.
The consciousness of the world is rising rapidly. The darkness is diminishing. This is not quite evident in the main stream media. If you are media watcher look for breaks in the doom and gloom coverage [war mongering etc.]. The united front will break down soon. I don't advise paying much attention to the MSM. One has to have a well tuned BS detector and the ability not to be influenced by the mind shaping propaganda. I am one of those that think that I can pay attention to it and not be effected that much; but I decided to avoid all television news a couple months ago and I think it was a good decision.
We need to avoid anything that diminishes our light. Everyone needs our light. Happiness is light. Joy is light. Love is light. We are so use to thinking we need to struggle, the idea that there is no gain without pain, that we have a hard time accepting the idea that we just need to be happy. Happiness, radiant happiness, is our birthright. When we are happy we lift everyone up.
We have struggled so long that it is difficult to accept that happiness is a decision of our mind. We need to prove it to ourselves. Once we have realized it, we won't settle for anything less. Then, of course, we will "slip slide away". As long as we are in our present consciousness and in these bodies, we will have a tendency to slip and slide.
Accept the fact that we are still evolving and we can seem to go backward as well as forward. Let's not be discouraged. Choose happiness again and again. Always choose happiness. "The Past is Only a Goodbye" another song. This one by Crosby, Stills and Nash.

STAYING THE COURSE
Slate gray skies, an inch of rain last night, high humidity, temperature in the lower fifties; gloomy, right? Yet if we look at the trees and bushes we see them wreathed in light green, swelling buds. The grass is growing faster than the sheep can nibble it down. Anemones and hepaticas are emerging in the woodlands.
Yes, it matters what we pay attention to. Our lives can be full of little troubles, we can brush them off or we can add our grievances and sink down into a hole of our own making. We made this illusion with duality. We are constantly invited to look at the negative in every situation. It is always our choice.
We are at a moment of hesitation. We are beginning to see through the veil that has kept us blind to the glorious reality that awaits us. What is the hesitation? Do we feel unworthy? There are forces extant that would like to keep us from realizing who we are. They would like to keep us under control. They use their energy to keep us doubtful about the promise we have glimpsed. We have yet to see how unfree we have been. We won't realize how controlled we have been until the noose drops from our necks.
The forces that oppose our natural evolution, to knowing our Source {Unconditional Love}, are waning. They can't stop us. But they won't give up easily. They are masters at control and have learned how to trigger our doubts about our own worthiness and that of our neighbors.
We will be tempted again and again to look at the gloom. We can shift our focus to the light in our life. There is no better time than now to realize we are in control of our thought processes. What a huge difference we experience, when we raise our minds out of the cesspool of despair or self-pity and focus on the love that surrounds us. And it always surrounds us. Keep looking. If we don't see it; we look again and then again. We know it is there.
We have had a lot of practice by now focusing on the Love in our life. We know how to do it. We have felt the love flowing from family members, neighbors, strangers in the streets or stores. We can feel our connection with humanity. We are beginning to see that we are great beings of love. We are fully capable of creating a World of Love. Or perhaps it is already there and we need only merge with it.
Let us keep the love flowing and bless everyone we meet.

ONENESS
The idea of discussing Oneness is a little intimidating as I haven't experienced it myself. Oh sure, I have had glimpses. I have an idea what it is like. I haven't experienced it on an ongoing basis. But as I have said before, teachers best teach what they are trying to learn themselves.
In the 70's I read a delightful book titled, "The Lazy Man's Guide to Enlightenment" [1971] by Thaddeus Golas. I wanted to refresh myself about the books content, but I couldn't find it in our assorted collections. I know it was a book that I lent out several times. I am sure it is still available for those who are interested.
I remember an exercise from the book, it was: "I have no resistance to the vibrations of any other being." I remember doing that exercise during meditations and feeling the peace that came with it. There is a sense of wholeness when we are not at war with anything or anybody.
Jamie and I occasionally get in to arguments and they are often triggered by her feeling that I am judging her. It is not easy for me to admit that she might be correct. We are all on different paths to the same goal. My idea and her idea of how to grow towards enlightenment may vary. I have no right to think my way is better, much less, judge her for her ideas. Our egos are tricky, we can get caught up in judgement without realizing it.
That is what caused me to remember that exercise, "I have no resistance to the vibrations of any other being." We can sometimes find ourselves more open to the ideas of perfect strangers than to those closest to us.
In this sense being "one" doesn't mean we agree with the other. It means we have no internal resistance to them having their perception. We each have our own autonomy. We each struggle or glide along the path we are on. It is arrogance to assume that we know what it is best for another person. As a teacher, who has a long history of being a psychotherapist, I can err in thinking that I can correct another when there is no need for correction. One has no right to give input unless asked.
Starting from unity, it might be easier to understand oneness. We are all part of the One {God or Source if we prefer}. Behind our illusion of separateness we are all Beings of Light {energy} That Energy is Unconditional Love. We all yearn to know our Oneness. In oneness we find peace. In oneness there is no striving, there is no conflict there is only love.
Since we are One already, there is nothing we can do to achieve oneness. We are there already, we just need to realize it. We cannot strive to have what we already have. We just need to 'see'.
In order to see, we need to remove the scales from our eyes. Those scales are judgements. Those of us with scales on our eyes clearly see the scales on our neighbors eyes, but are blind to the scales on our own eyes. We get stuck in a blindman's circle.
"I have no resistance to the vibrations of any other being". Try it. Let us begin by giving every other person the love and respect we would like. When we see without judgement, we see through the disguise that our neighbor may be wearing, to the loving being he/she is. As we let our love shine through we thin out our own disguise so that folks can perceive the loving beings we are.
We need to avoid our cultures invitations to be divisive; with each other, nature and the rest of the world. We are constantly bombarded with invitations to judge, condemn and measure. Ignore request to be at war. War on drugs. War on cancer. War on crime. War on poverty. Our culture has created endless wars that do nothing for the problem targeted, but create divisiveness and destroy peace. Our problems will be solved by focusing love on them, not war.
Peace and comfort come from giving up all our conflicts. Knowing our Oneness is Peace. Knowing our Oneness is security; it is safety. We can dis-arm only with Love.

LIVING NOW
How successful have you been at keeping your mind in the present? Difficult isn't it. Why is it so difficult? If we see right now. We stop time. We see what actually is. There is great resistance to seeing what actually is. From the time we are born we are programmed to see what others want us to see. We develop a myriad of little beliefs that form systems of thought that control our perception. Much of this is done on purpose by those in control and much we learn from well meaning caretakers who are in error.
It is important that we accept that we know nothing. Everything we think we know is either flat out not true or has been compromised. Our personal past and our collective past [history] are fables blinding us from truth. Our personal past has been heavily corrupted by the shame and guilt that existed when the events occurred. From the time we were born we were inflicted with the disease of unworthiness. The things that pop into our minds are often these tainted tidbits. History is always written by those who have maintained dominance, therefore can never be trusted.
When the wise ones, through the ages, have suggested we give up the past they were not making an idle recommendation. We can't see the truth of anything with the past circling our head like vultures. We are not defined by what we think of as our past.
Do we want to be free? Then let us free ourselves from the past. This moment is the only time, it is filled with love.
How can we give up the past? First convince ourselves of the need. We must accept that attention to the past in our minds keeps us stuck. Some of us are not yet convinced how completely programmed we are. There is much information on the internet discussing this phenomena. It is easy to learn just how corrupt this world is and how greatly we have been blinded to truth. Once we realize how bad it is, it can be a little like wallowing in the pigsty of the illusion. Still, we need to dig and uncover until we are convinced.
Soon we won't have to dig or inquire about the past because truth is going to hit us in the face. All the ugliness of the illusion is going to come to the surface. And on the other hand, we will begin to see the beauty and magnificence of who we really are.
So what do we do now? We can be alert to what our minds are doing. When we catch ourselves dwelling on negativity, let it go. Don't rationalize it, don't justify it, don't even ask yourself why your thinking that way, just let it go.
When are our minds free and quiet and joyful? When we are doing something we love. When we are creating. When we are feeling love. When we are being thankful. When we are appreciating somebody or something. When we are having fun. When we are sitting outside basking in the Sun. When we are reading something we really enjoy. When we are meditating.
Music, dancing, singing, celebrating helps us stay in the present moment. All love, joy and peace is now.
The now is also the opening to the universe. The vastness. The eternal silence. The source of all creation. We are beginning to see what is. We are surrounded by Unconditional Love.

MUSINGS
In the late 70s I started writing a book, I titled it "Conversations On A Bridge". I imagined it to be a bridge between the ages and the conversation was between a Jesus like figure and a Socrates like figure. Their conversation reflected on the evolution of humanity to that point. Both taught truth from a perspective of unconditional love. Jesus saw truth and taught by example and used parables. Socrates attempted to use reason to delineate truth.
I didn't get very far with the book. I wrote about four chapters and I took a break. In some cleaning frenzy my manuscript disappeared. It has never shown up. I moved on and thought, perhaps, I wasn't ready to address the subject.
One of the chapters dealt with our inability to trust our innate knowledge. I went on to describe how even the most lowly seed has the ability to know when to sprout, send out roots then the dicotyledon leaves, then its more mature leaves. It knows how to search for water and nutrients in the ground and spread its leaves to the Sun. When one delves into the workings of Nature one sees miracle after miracle. No matter how long one studies Nature there seems to be more to learn about the incredible intelligence that is portrayed.
Yet, we don't seem to trust Nature. In every aspect of life we seem to trust technology over Nature. We gave up herbal remedies as soon as we could synthesize the active ingredients. Sure, seeking profit had a lot to do with this, but if we really appreciated what nature gave us would we have been so quick to give it up. We, often, don't really know how the active ingredient works and if it is that beneficent separated from the whole.
Look at what we have done with agriculture. Look at how we have manufactured foods. Are we ignoring what is readily observed in nature? Do we think we know better how to nourish our bodies than Nature? We can trust a simple plant to know what is best for it, but we can't trust our own bodies.
We, who consider ourselves perched on top of Natures evolutionary spiral, don't have the faith in our biological processes that we see in the smallest seed. How can that be?
In my "Conversations on the Bridge" I had hoped to find where humankind quit learning directly from Nature and supplanted it with reason that was not grounded in Nature.
Our reasoning power is amazing. Socrates embraced it. He attempted to demonstrate what was fallacious reasoning. His touchstone was Love. He had faith that correct reasoning would lead to the most loving solutions. Jesus, on the other hand, saw the pitfall of worshiping reason and pointed directly towards Love.
I imagined that I could have a conversation between these two and demonstrate how we went off track. I think it is clear to most of us that reasoning without a touchstone can lead to some very destructive ideas and it has, hasn't it?
Can we get back to the place, just before our reasoning processes separated from the rest of Nature? It was long, long time ago. It started much before the rise of modern science. It had its roots long before the ancient Greeks. Our reason separated from our direct experience of Nature in antiquity. Perhaps with the beginning of religion and the attempts to control other people with States and institutions. I wasn't there. I don't know.
Can we correct this problem by marrying our hearts with our minds? Could the heart originate and provide the energy for thought and the mind be the processor? Could we see the mind as the tool for the heart? How would our world look if all our thoughts were based on Unconditional Love?
My thoughts for today.
Love and Peace, Gregg

PEACE OF MIND
There is a glimmer of Sun off and on. We didn't get all the snow this week that was forecast. Things are looking up. Perhaps, Spring is here to stay.
Peace of mind. Doesn't that sound nice? We know that love and joy come from peace. Yet, sometimes our minds are like a busy street. Thoughts flying back and forth. Worry bugs germinating in the corners. Despite our best intentions, we find ourselves perseverating about some nonsense. Will it get better? When we are in the midst of one of these episodes it seems like it is hopeless. Are we always going to be a victim of an errant mind?
It is getting better. Control of the mind doesn't come overnight. Perhaps calling it control is an error. Peace seems to come from giving up control. Most the thoughts we struggle with come from attempting to control. Letting go is the answer. Letting go of the thoughts that trouble us brings us the quiet we want.
As I mentioned in an earlier blog, these are difficult times and they are marvelous times. When we are on the verge of breaking through to a new level of consciousness our egos will work overtime to defeat us. Our egos are like spoiled obnoxious children who are terrified of losing their power. They will glam onto any little fear thought and invite us to indulge in it.
Yet they are marvelous times. When our minds are at peace, we begin to see a wondrous world around us.
When we go through these struggles in our mind, we can sit down for a meditation period, as our minds quiet we can talk to ourselves, reassure that terrified part of us [ego] that it won't die. We can tell our ego that it doesn't need to have the job of controlling things anymore. We have given ourselves over to a higher consciousness [spirit]. Our ego can always have value in knowing our uniqueness but it doesn't need to defend our separateness. There is no danger to defend us from and we are One.
We will get better and better at catching ourselves when we are paying too much attention to a run-a-way mind and we will be able to snap it back to the Now.
The more we discover the peace in our own being, the more we can extend it to the world.
