The spiritual literature says that time does not exist. Of course, that is because it is part of our illusion. It sure seems real to us. We just got Noah and Gregory off to the airport via my lovely daughter, Laura. Wow! We sure pay attention to time in these circumstances. I got up early and had my Morning chores completed and the dishes washed by 10AM. I still feel in kind of a hurry up mode.
Weather-wise it is a new day. When I awoke this Morning it was 14F instead of -14. It is Sunny and there is a definite promise that warmer weather is on the horizon.
As part of living in the now, we are encouraged to surrender to the moment. We are living in very painful times. If we pay attention to the negative machinations of the dying world, we find it very depressing indeed. We want to take up forces against the dark. We want to right all the worlds wrongs by the force of our will. That is okay, if we remember the only force that could work is the power of love. The people that have been running things use division as one of their main tools. They are gleeful when they can get people, devoted to light, to take sides. Let us not get seduced into thinking that taking sides will help bring in the world we want.
We will not find love or peace by entering a conflict. We can help the poor, we can lift the downtrodden, champion the sick and imprisoned, without railing against those that created the hell for them. Those that created these horrors live off of fear and anger. We will correct all these errors and set things right. We will do it by pouring our love out on both side of all conflicts. We will offer forgiveness to all despite the heinousness of their crimes. We will see a humane way to deal with those who cannot change. Folks who cannot fit into a loving society can be separated and treated with dignity, they don't need to be punished. Isn't it about time we learned that punishment creates what we don't want?
So, living in the now and surrendering to the moment. I am advising we stay out of the conflicts around us except to offer love to all concerned. When we can see a way to help without involving ourselves in the conflict, we offer help. In the path we are on, we will have all we can deal with, keeping our own minds clear and free of conflict, it is a big job.
As we go about our day, let's stop every few hours and check things out. Are we peaceful? Are we letting our minds run away chasing errant thoughts? Are we keeping our thoughts in the now? Where is our focus?
Surrendering to the moment is focusing on 'now' and accepting what is 'now' with love. I may not be great at describing this, because I am learning like you, to live in the moment and to love every moment.
Love and Peace, Gregg
