ATTACHMENT-DETACHMENT

I am writing this blog in a construction zone. They cut the doorways in from our existing dining room and the computer room to the new rooms being built. The electrician is here roughing in the outlets etc. The noise of drills, saws and hammers creates an interesting din. It is music to my ears though, as I am eager to see it completed.

Humanity is going through a great change. We are more and more tuned in to the love that encompasses our planet. Most of us can now see that we could be happy, and we are more and more of the time. Happiness is possible all the time. What holds us back? Memories? Things we haven't forgiven? We are more and more aware that fear blocks our happiness and we have become diligent about our thoughts and, at least, when we are aware, we won't allow fear to cloud our consciousness.

Yet we still seem to stay stuck in some of our old ways of feeling and thinking. Why? There is a certain rigidity that develops while living in these bodies. We find ways of perceiving our world that appear to work and we hang on to them. Some of the ideas might be quite limiting yet we don't want to give them up.

It is strange we will hang on to things that hurt us. Some of us hang on to worry because we have developed the superstition that if you worry about it, the bad thing won't happen. We know better, but it is hard to give up on what has been engrained. Another example is forgiveness. Some of us have been afraid to forgive completely, especially when the recipient of the forgiveness doesn't care. We know forgiveness is for us, yet somehow it makes us feel vulnerable.

There are a myriad examples perhaps one will occur to you. It is clear how an attachment to a negative can be hurtful or limiting. How about our attachments to the things we like? It is great to have things and people in our lives that enhance it. But attachment eats away at love. Attachment creates fear of loss. Fear of loss causes the need to control. Of course, control in a relationship smothers love and often leads to a breakup. Attachment to things attenuates the pleasure you would otherwise have by possessing them. Much energy goes into the fear of loss or damage of your property.

The energy of love that surrounds us is asking us to give up our attachments. The whole idea of being like little children is valuable here. Little children have not yet developed ideas about how things should be. They are open to see how things are. If we look through the eyes of small children we will see a world of love, not contaminated by the ideas we have developed. We have heard many times that we should give up the past, not look to the future, but live in the ever present now. That will solve all the problems of attachment. It takes practice. It is doable.

We are living in a world, where the passing old ways of operating, are desperately trying to hang on. Those who are tied to the dark will continue to foment separation and violence where ever they can. They have lost the battle, they can't compete with the love that is in our hearts, but they still own the media, so we are inundated with information about violence and all types of negativity. It would be best if we left our television sets off for the time being, but we like our favorite shows. How do we deal with the horrible things we see?

We need to learn detachment. Know that when we hear of people meeting a violent end, they volunteered for it before they were born. It was their contract to fulfill for us to learn peace and love. Some of us still need to learn the horror of war and armed conflict, of any kind, before we can give up the idea. The great majority of us want love, peace, and joy and we have succeeded in our goal even if it hasn't become completely manifest.

Detachment doesn't mean we don't care. It means we can see the situation with compassion. We can extend our love to the folks involved and thank them for their teaching. We don't need to get our emotions involved in a negative way. It doesn't help anyone to suffer ourselves or be unhappy. We are all connected; our happiness lifts all.

LIFE GOES ON

We have made progress with our Fall chores. The last of the broilers are in the freezer. I dug up my amaryllis and gladiolas. We have potatoes left to dig and apples to pick. The weather forecast is dreary for the coming week, snow and rain. I may start picking those apples this afternoon. We have a couple bushels of Firesides on the tree. They are a wonderful eating apple and they keep for several weeks in the house. We will need to can most of them. Jamie makes apple-pie-in-a-jar. All the ingredients for an apple pie filling go in the jar and just needs to be put in a crust and baked.

Our building project is going forward after a weeks delay. They are making up for lost time. The roof trusses are already up. I am sitting right next to the construction; only a wall separates me from the carpenters and their hammers.

Do you like your life predictable? Do you take unexpected events in your stride? Is there an advantage to predictability? Sure we create our experience. But we don't know the all of it. We create what we desire to experience and that is on different levels. Before we decided to take this journey on planet Earth, we knew what experiences we needed to have for the learning we felt we needed. Some events are 'group projects'. Many relatives and friends are beings we shared many lifetimes with. We came into this life with learning contracts that involved those others.

So when we say, we create our experience with our thoughts and feelings, that is certainly true; but events may be prearranged. We agreed to them because they carried a valuable lesson, something we wanted to learn.

Some unexpected events are minor; flat tires, clogged drains, cancelled flights etc. Some are major; deaths in the family, serious accidents etc. They all have something in common. They are not the tragedies we think they are. For instance death, our pain comes from our attachment. Love is not attachment. Love is freeing. Love would understand that the loved one chose to leave. Sure as long as we are in bodies, we are going to experience attachment. No one would suggest a death in the family could ever be easy, but we will get to the point where we no longer see it as tragedy. Most families are able to celebrate the death of their aged population. In the near future we will be able to celebrate all changes.

Life is Life! We live! Death isn't real. Nothing we experience in this bodily illusion is real. It is a dream we are having. Let us not make it a nightmare. We are here to learn by experiencing. Therefore, we need to accept it as our temporary reality. But can't we be lighthearted?

Since we can't really predict what will happen from day to day, what should be our outlook? Can we greet every event with alacrity? Can we be lighthearted about everything? Can we see the funny side of the events of our lives? Who said, we had to be serious?

When we practice loving every moment and living every moment, we don't scare ourselves with a future that hasn't arrived. If we get a flat tire, we pull out our cars manual and see if we can fix it or we flag down a passing motorist. We don't scare ourselves with something that might happen. It is just another adventure to regale our friends with at our next meeting.

Life comes to us in an endless stream. Let us love it all. The more we love the lighter will be the lessons. We are here to realize we are unconditional love just like our Source. Let us learn to love now, then we won't call any more lessons to us.

THERE ARE NO PETTY JUDGEMENTS

Our building project has been on hold awaiting the roof trusses. They were finally delivered yesterday afternoon. We are now awaiting eagerly the arrival of the workmen. Hopefully some building will happen today.

Teachers teach what they want to learn. Even in cases where they spout knowledge by rote, they are trying to learn something. Teaching cannot be separated from learning. The subject today is one in which I have just recently developed insight to and I am still attempting to fully grasp.

It appears that every judgement we make limits us in some way. Even those little judgements we think of as teasing or joking chip and chisel away at our ability to feel love. We isolate ourselves with our judgements.

I am learning about how we are all connected through our heart/mind connection. There seems to be actual energy flowing between us.

In each individual there exist a connection with the heart center and the brain. We feel love in our heart and it flows up and bathes our head space. When we are open and relaxed we can actually feel the energy in our chest area expand and flow through our whole body. As we go about our daily life we are more aware of our thought processes, than our heart center, but that doesn't mean our heart center is shutdown, it continually communicates with the brain adding insight and broader understanding. What we call intuition. The heart center is what saves us from the cold and often erroneous logic of the brain.

The ego doesn't thrive in the presence of an active heart center. The ego likes to control by using fear. It is constantly on the alert for things that it sees as dangerous and attracts thoughts in an attempt to control. The ego shuts down the heart center with thoughts that cause hurt feelings. When our feelings are hurt we isolate ourselves. We build a wall around ourselves for protection. We may hurl word bombs over our wall but we won't let anything in.

So how does judgement fit into all of this? How does judgement cause pain? Imagine for a moment that we are all functioning perfectly. We are internally connected. Our hearts and brains are working together. If we pay attention, we are aware of our love for each other. Then one of us makes a judgement of an other. It need not be vocalized, at some level all are aware of the happening.

The person who has the judgmental thought limits the flow of energy from his/her heart center. To the degree of the judgement he/she becomes a little colder, perhaps more calculating. Less love energy bathes the brain and some loss of connection happens with all the other folks.

The person who is being judged begins to limit their connection with the one judging. If they have good self esteem, they may be able to dismiss the judgement as an aberration but they will be wary and a wall, perhaps thin at this point, will come up. If they don't have good self esteem their feelings will be hurt. They will isolate themselves from the other and if inclined will throw their own bombs over the wall.

To some degree this is a continual ongoing process. We all do it. Our judgements cut ourselves off from others as well as ourselves. With every judgement, no matter how big or small, we isolate ourselves and impair our ability to love and appreciate the world and those around us. In moderately good relationships we continually make course corrections. We forgive ourselves of our own judgements and of those close to us. If we keep our eye on love and value the intimacy with the other, we attempt correction as soon as the judgement manifests.

However, even the smallest judgements, things we don't recognize as judgements, we may think they are mere observations, chip and chisel away at the other person. This can become an unconscious process. We don't realize what has happened until a rip roaring fight erupts. At this point both feel they are in the right and the other has slipped their moorings. Then the fight is not a negative as it serves to reconnect. However, there are easier ways to do it.

Each one of us needs to look at it from our own personal point of view. Of course we are concerned and compassionate for others but this is something we need to do for ourselves. As much as we may hurt others with our judgements, we hurt ourselves more. With every judgement we isolate ourselves. We sever the tie between our heart and our mind. We retreat into some facsimile of ourselves. We can't express love or feel it from others. We dig a moat around ourselves and wall ourselves off from our feelings. The worst outrage we can feel is that no one loves us and the conclusion we come to is that we are unlovable. The barrier around us becomes filled with rage and that is a painful obstacle to deal with. We don't realize we have done it all by ourselves and to ourselves by embracing one little judgement after another.

The good news is that no matter how much we in-cyst ourselves with pain and rage, we can walk out in the bright light of day at any time. It is much like a butterfly emerging from a not so attractive chrysalis. All that we need to realize, is that it is all not true. It is an illusion created by our judgement and it can be over in a second.

Once we realize judgement is not something to play around with, we become alert. We dismiss such thoughts from our mind as soon as they are recognized. When we continually turn towards love we protect ourselves from the consequences of judgement.

The old energy of divisiveness has gone. It has been replaced by the energy of inclusion and togetherness. Soon judgement will be impossible in the brilliance of love that encompasses humanity.

BRINGING LIGHT

This might be a short blog. Then maybe not. I need to butcher six more broilers this morning. We did five on Sunday morning during the snowstorm. Then we will have fourteen left and we can finish in two days. I have only an hour or so to blog.

As we awaken we may feel the need to bring light to those who still have heavy lidded eyes. In our enthusiasm to teach that love solves all problems, which it does, we may put some people off. We need to be careful not to challenge others beliefs. It is not necessary to bring others beliefs into question in order to be a bearer of light. It is not necessary and not even accurate as we must admit that we really don't know anything.

We have been convinced that the Universe is Love. That The Source of all is Love. That we a were created with Love. To love. We know that love will solve all the worlds problems. It doesn't make sense to tell people that. They either agree and know it already or they, in all probability, don't want to hear it from one of us.

Yet when one of us discovers something of this magnitude, we want to shout it from the roof tops; and if we look around us, surely we see the need to help others see. We help others by helping ourselves. We need to make a commitment to find that well of love in ourselves. As we find quiet times to go inside, we will become more able to access peace when we need to. Life's worrisome things can  flit by without engaging our egos.

As we become more worry free, we radiate more love and people sense our peace. They will be drawn to us and perhaps a conversation will begin; but we never need to initiate teaching. The right people will come to us if they see that they can learn from us. We teach others by raising our own vibration. As we let more of our love flow out we raise the consciousness of all. We will make progress as one.

Yes it is time to bring our light to the world. We need to do all we can to help humankind evolve. Each of us can make our own assessment of where we are at. Do we need to be more gentle? Resolve to work on that today. Learn gentleness. Do we make snap judgements? Resolve to be patient; reiterate to yourself that judgement is folly. Do we feel we are not expressive enough? Wake up every morning with a resolve to smile at every one you meet. We are all evolving, none of us has arrived. Assessment is not judgement. We must guard against judging ourselves. That creates more problems. Yet we do know in what areas we could grow. Let's be honest with ourselves and take steps to grow in those areas.

We teach by our being, not by what comes out of our mouth. As we radiate more love, the teaching takes care of itself. Some of us are teachers in the traditional sense of passing on information orally or in writing. If you are one of these, students will appear at your doorstep. You don't have to concern yourself with it, you will attract those who are to learn from you. Most of us do our teaching by choosing love moment by moment. As I have mentioned before, we can't measure our impact on another. Your beautiful smile to a stranger might have more power than hours of formal teaching. We cannot know what great things a smile and a few pleasant words can bring to someone in a funk. Love spontaneously, that is how we spread the light.

OCTOBER SNOWS

The Sun is shining brightly. It is 33.6 F, not quite warm enough to melt the blanket of snow that still greeted us upon arising. It snowed most of the day yesterday and rained most of the night. It is hard to measure how much snow we received. After raining several hours, we still have an inch on our porch roof and deck. We have about two inches on the pastures and parts of the lawn. There are parts of the lawn that are bare of snow. The ground must have been warm enough to melt it. There doesn't seem to be any bare batches in the pastures. The sheep and goats are finding tuffs of weeds and grasses that emerge above the snow. If the snow doesn't melt quickly I will be hauling out a couple bails of hay.

I did a little research on how common October snows are. Using my Weather Guide Calender as the information source, I found that since 1875 there were 8 days that we received one inch or more snow. The earliest date was Oct 10 when we had 2.5 inches. There were only four times we had snow[an inch or more] on or before the 20th. 1977[as mentioned], 2009, 1976, and 1916. Interesting that three of these dates are recent.

In my memory, [still speaking of October] we have only once, had snow that lasted for more than a day. Generally, October snow melts in hours not days. The one time I know it lasted more than a day was the great Halloween blizzard of 1991. The official tally was 8.2 inches. We received over a foot here and that snow was still on the ground in the Spring. That was a phenomenally long Winter. As a rule of thumb, any snow that falls before Thanksgiving melts in a few days.

I don't think this snow will last out the day. It is 37.4 F at this moment.

Do you feel the consciousness raising? Do you notice that people around you are awakening? We do. Folks who make it a habit of being pessimistic about the world are suddenly saying something positive. The pain of the Middle East is subsiding. Peace talks are under way in Syria. Our relationship with Iran is definitely improving. The change comes from the people. They will no longer go along with leaders who want war for profit. As the consciousness rises it is harder and harder for those in power to hoodwink the folks into divisiveness and war.

The evolution of humanity cannot be overstated. The key is that we are all connected. It is what makes us One. As each individual decides to choose love over fear, they pour more positive energy into the whole. In this regard, everyone has equal power. No matter who we are or what we are doing, when we choose love, we bring all of humankind forward.

Many spiritually oriented observers state that we have already passed the tipping point and love, joy and peace will be realized by all very soon. These folks talk about weeks and months not years. From now on things can happen very fast. New leaders are emerging to take over from those who were aligned with the dark. Many are waiting in the wings to accept new roles.

Inventions that tap into universal energy have been suppressed since Tesla's time. Many scientist have been working in this area for generations. The fruits of their labor are soon to be unveiled. The fossil fuel people no longer have the power to control our destiny. As long as the folks in charge controlled our power sources, they had their foot on our necks. According to some sources, a power unit the size of a small suitcase will be enough to supply power to a typical home.

One of the most exciting thing will be discovering our true history. How and why did we enter into this separateness? What is our real history since the separation? How many civilizations preceded us? How many were more advanced than our own? How many times were we visited by beings from other worlds? What is our spiritual nature? What did we want to learn by being in bodies? Why?

We need to keep an open mind. New information will come to us quickly. Some information might be unsettling to those who have a lot invested in what they believe. It is best to suspend all we think we know and just observe. Let us be like little children, wide eyed and full of love.

These are exciting times.

A CRISP FRIDAY MORN

It is a spectacularly beautiful Morning! Bright sunshine,  a wonderful carpet of yellow leaves; what a wonderful way to end three days of the drizzles. I swear Autumn leaves have their own light. They appear to glow more intensely than reflected Sunlight and in the late Evening they glow after the Sun dips below the horizon. It was a pleasure walking across the carpet of leaves this Morning.

Jamie and I have put the cold from hell behind us. We have a few lingering symptoms, but I think we can pronounce ourselves healed. Just in time, as we have a great many things to do in the next couple weeks. We did get the tomatoes picked. We had fried green tomatoes last night [delicious] and some of the ripe ones will be canned today. Those chickens that should be in the freezer are getting huge, some must weigh over ten pounds. We hope we can begin that process tomorrow.

Our building project has been held up because we haven't got the roof trusses yet. In the meantime, the weather was hardly conducive to building. This is the first day it hasn't rained in a long time. We are forecast to get more rain/snow through the weekend. Supposedly it won't be clear again until Tuesday. So it goes.

I quit watching the news on television a few months ago. I look at the paper, which I get mostly for the funnies and the crossword puzzle. It appears that the world is not getting better. It is. It is hard to make a case for world improvement, paying attention to the media. Two things to consider: one, the media likes to cover strife and violence; that is where their money is at. And more importantly, healing of our world means that the negativity that has been festering under the surface, needs to come to the surface. The wounds on the body politic need to heal. They need to be exposed to the healing light. We need to give up our denial and see.

It may not appear so, to all of us, but we are evolving at a rapid rate. Most of us can see that we don't want to continue the old world. More and more things will come to the surface, like pustules coming to the surface of a healthy skin, they will heal. We are far stronger and healthier than we think. Look at them. Don't ponder or evaluate. See and turn your mind to love.

Our resolve to be loving has changed the world. We will no longer fall back into a world of perennial violence. The existing conflicts in the Middle East and elsewhere will wind down. The warlords of the world have lost their power. The people of the world have opted for peace. We are beginning to see a peaceful world emerge.

We discussed in a recent blog our Heart connection. Our heart connectedness to each other is several times more powerful than the connection we make with our mind. Until recently, we have denied the power of our heart connection. Through our heart connection flows the love that is elevating the world. Every time we respond to the radiant smile of a stranger, we send out love to everyone in the world.

Pay attention to the deep peace that is at our center. Every time we take a deep breath we access it for an instant. We would benefit by meditation every day. Let us quiet our minds and find that river of peace. That river connects all of us. When we find ourselves feeling tense, we can learn to automatically look inside to connect with the peace within.

Know that the Old World is passing and a New World has emerged. As we learn to open our eyes we will see the New World. While we are waiting for the film to clear from our vision; look for ways to celebrate. Dance! Sing! Laugh! Look for the love in each other. Be a beacon of light. Look for the beacon of light in all others.

CONNECTEDNESS

We are going to need to hustle to get our Fall chores done. We have 25 chickens crowing, flapping and scratching around that should be in the freezer. We have potatoes to dig, tomatoes to pick and process and a couple bushels of apples languishing on the trees. Normally it would be long past tomato season, but we have avoided frost. It looks like a hard freeze may occur later this week. I spied a flock of Slate Colored Juncos yesterday, our harbinger of coming snow, and sure enough snow is in the forecast.

I am going to begin a conversation on connectedness. We talk about love. We say love is everything. We say we are all one. But how does it work? Just how are we connected? Connection through the mind is talked about; still not understood, but discussed. How about our heart connectedness? How does that work?

We are all aware of our feelings. We experience them around our breastbone and up into our throat. They well up and cause a lump in our throat or bring tears to our eyes. Imagine our hearts are energy centers sending out electromagnetic energy to all other hearts. Our physical heart electrically charges the blood which flows throughout the body. It offers a profound connectedness to the bodies organs and all its tissues. The energy of our heart center appears to transcend the body and connect with all other heart centers.

Our poetry doesn't seem confused about this issue. The heart is the home place for love. It is the generator of love. But hasn't it taken second place to the mind in our modern culture? The mind thinks with thoughts; it can be very clear but can be obscured by logic which is never trustworthy. The heart knows with feelings; that knowing can be obscured by hurt.

The introduction of fear into our consciousness many eons ago severed our connectedness. The fear in the mind that you may be killed or eaten by a sabre toothed tiger is nothing compared to the fear of being unlovable and losing your connection to those who are valuable to you.

Those interested in power over others, soon learned that fear of bodily harm had limits but fear of rejection was almost unlimited. Over the centuries there have been very few who could stand up to the scorn and rejection of the rest of us. For the last several thousand years parents, teachers and society in general have used emotional rejection as a way of controlling children. They have used that pain we all feel in our chest to manipulate the child. Many times it has been unwitting other times by design.

Society has suppressed the knowing in our hearts. We have elevated the dominance of the mind and characterized our hearts as unreliably squishy. We will see that this is a huge untruth that aided those who would control us continue their agendas of separation and conflict.

Our hearts have been hurt. they have been laden with the pain of childhood and the fear of rejection. Rejection is judgement. It is a big job. but we must determine to put the hurt behind us. We need to understand that the hurt we have felt is not really real; it was engineered and part of the illusion that is fading away.

The importance of our heart connectedness can not be overstated. Our hearts are fountains of love. Our hearts send out beams of love to all other hearts. We need to free our hearts from the walls of protectiveness we have surrounded them. We can't really be hurt. Tear down the walls and fill up the moats. Reach out to other hearts and let them reach out to you.

All aggression, violence and interpersonal negativity becomes impossible when your heart is open. We see the hurt in others and are compassionate. We give them healing energy. We see everybody as us. Some are hiding behind walls, some are emerging but they are all us. Let our hearts rule or minds. We have had it backwards for along time.

I haven't forgotten that I was going to talk about the grinding economic crash. There is still too much hidden. I want, what I have to say, to be understandable and easily verifiable; the time is not yet but soon.
